    Decorative Arts Museum, Lyon

In the same complex as the Textile Museum, the Decorative Arts Museum has been housed since 1925 in the former Lacroix-Laval mansion. The various rooms form a showcase for the remarkable collection of hand-made furniture and woodwork made in Paris or Lyon. The pendulum collection counts some forty object of exceptional quality, and the ceramic section contains interesting bone and hard china, as well as one of the most important collections of Renaissance Italian majolica in all of France, not to mention the unusual and rare collection of straw in-lay objects from the 17th to early 19th
The museum also houses a large number of ornamental bronzes and a fine harpsichord with dual keyboard dating from 1716, made by the Lyon native P. Donzelague. Antique silversmithing, represented for the most part by 18th century works, has a special display including some thirty contemporary works.
